Welcome to Gaithersburg: Then & Now, dedicated to the rich history of our great city! Ever since the railroad came to Gaithersburg in 1873, this once sleepy agricultural town has grown and developed into a prosperous city and community. Despite major development, so much of “old” Gaithersburg has been preserved by our past and present leaders. Now in 2012, there are several massive development projects in the works for Gaithersburg. While growth and development is exciting, we must not forget the past – and the preservation of our history.
